East Kilbride Thistle's lucky white shirts! Purple Rock supplies East Kilbride Thistle Junior Football Club with a range of playing, training and promotional kit.

East Kilbride are performing well - their lucky white shirts (let's hope it stays that way!) can be seen below - the Jags put in a battling performance against Bellshill in November 2002 to win the Sectional League Cup Final 2-0.
The boys are also battling for promotion and are sitting in the top half of the Abercorn Central League Division One.

Purple Rock - 'One to Watch' Purple Rock entered the inaugural Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Business Awards in 2002 in the Best Newcomer category. Up against much larger businesses, the judging panel decided that Purple Rock should receive a special commendation.
This commendation tipped Purple Rock as 'One to Watch' in the future in terms of growth and product offering.
Purple Rock's owner, Helen Paxton was delighted:
"To start your own business and see it grow and grow is the most satisfying feeling in the world. I am passionate about sport (as most people know) and I am passionate about my business, which is about sport. We've delivered some really exciting projects over the past 12 months - one being the Scottish Hockey squad kit. Cosmos win the Scottish Cup!!! Cumbernauld Cosmos U-16 girls football team today won the Scottish Cup in a 4-0 victory over Fife in Alloa this afternoon.
Purple Rock supply strips and sponsor the U-14's and U-16's squads who have grown from strength to strength over the past few seasons.
It was also Purple Rock's owner's birthday today and the PR team were there to witness the team's cup victory - unfortunately there was no way the girls could have scored a goal for each year of Helen's life!
Well done girls - a great performance and some great football was played! Now for the League Cup Final - yes the winning team are also in this final too!
Purple Rock team Cosmos are treble winners! Great news - Cosmos are Treble Winners!
After winning the West Cup last weekend, Purple Rock sponsored Cosmos Under 17's added the league championship when they defeated Hibs Girls 2 - 1 in a league decider at Murieston on Sunday.
 Cosmos took the lead midway through the first half when a Hibs defender turned a free kick from Jill Paterson past her own keeper. Both teams were very nervous and failed to produce the standard of football they have shown this season. Hibs equalised early in the second half, but Cosmos then settled and took command. The Cumbernauld girls passing game was in sharp contrast to Hibs long ball game and Cosmos regained the lead through Emma Fernon.
The Cosmos defence snuffed out any threat from Hibs and Cosmos came close to increasing their lead on several occasions. In the end it was a deserved victory which capped a tremendous season for Cumbernauld. They started off by winning the St. Andrews International Tournament, followed this up by winning the Scottish Cup, then the West Cup and now have been crowned League Champions!
Well done from all at Purple Rock - what a season!

Work will be completed over the next couple of weeks on our showroom area which promises to be fantastic, and as we were told today, our hockey area will be one of the largest in Scotland - not bad! We will have a special astro turfed area for trying out sticks and our sample kit range available to try on and view. You will also be able to buy the official Scotland Range, official replica kit of Scottish Hockey.
Special Purple Rock bargains will also be available including tracksuits, t-shirts, sweats, training tops and more. 2002/2003 Zoppo hockey sticks will be reduced and the fab Omega 2003/2004 range available to drool over and buy of course. We just got in new Zoppo stick bags, shin pads, balls and gloves too.
We are passionate about hockey, but there will be something for everyone with football, netball, volleyball, athletics, rugby and fitness kit on display.

INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR HOCKEY Purple Rock is proud to be sponsoring the up and coming fixture between the UNITED KINGDOM LIONS and SCOTLAND U-16's.
The match is taking place at GATESHAED INTERNATIONAL STADIUM on SUNDAY 12TH OCTOBER with push back at 2pm.
Purple Rock is kitting out both teams and we wish them the best of luck! UK LIONS AND SCOTTISH SALTIRES! Purple Rock sponsored the UK Lions matches last Sunday in Gateshead. We also supplied kit for the UK Lions in the form of custom made performance fabric shirts and lovely micro fibre training tops. They looked lovely and played well!
The Saltires also played very well, but couldn't wear their Saltire shirts because of a colour clash!
Anyway, the day was a great success and the UK Lions vs Saltires was showcase match of the day, with the Lions running out 5-3 victors on the day in an exciting game!

TROON VOLLEYBALL CLUB We've just finished an order for Troon Volleyball Club - and the end result is fabulous (if we do say so ourselves!).
The girls opted for a custom made playing shirt in a lycra/merrell mix - smooth finish, performance fabric and breathable. We have been offering custom made kit for over 4 years now. Some of our competitors are now trying to offer this service, but we're not worried - Purple Rock has been testing fabrics and designs for years and offers unbeatable value for money and customer service. Customers are the most important thing to us. Lecture over!
As well as tops, the girls are also getting lovely micro fleeces and shorts. Hope the rest of the 2003/2004 season goes well girls!
 
NEW DUGOUT AREA IN SHOWROOM! EXCLUSIVE!
No, we are not mad....well maybe a bit sports daft. We have acquired a full size dugout for the showroom. This will allow customers to sit down and try on shoes, sit an admire our wonderful range of sticks and team kit or just have a wee seat and a coffee.
 We have our very own Carol Smillie of Dugout Restoration on board - Harry - who will be shining up the chrome and re-varnishing the bench. Makeover update: its been cleaned and stripped so far. Watch this space for more updates........!

The Purple Rock team 2004 at Purple Rock Well, already we are flat out kitting out a variety of teams from hockey, athletics and football to volleyball at the moment.
We are expecting a new delivery of Stag hockey kit and equipment and also have an exciting new hockey shirt design to unveil. This will soon be worn by one of Scotland's and indeed Europe's premier ladies teams - watch this space.
New Scottish Hockey shirts will also soon be ready - even better design and fabric - I bet you are excited!

The Purple Rock Team GLASGOW UNIVERSITY VET SCHOOL Our lovely friends at Glasgow University Vet School have some even lovelier hockey kit from Purple Rock. Our latest bit of work was some cool hoodies for the committee members, with big yellow names on the back so the hoodie wearer remembers what their job is! Feedback is that all committee members are over the moon with their new kit - especially as it is baltic in Glasgow at present!
 
GORGEOUS GROVIES!  We can only mean one thing when we mention Grovies - yes one of Scotland and Europe's finest hockey teams Bonagrass Grove from Dundee. So why are they more gorgeous than usual? Well, we've just kitted all the teams out in the finest playing shirts around (we think anyway!). These shirts are custom made to the ladies' requirements and incorporate our brand new (registered design) tail. No, not a long fluffy tail, but a slightly longer back panel on the shirts, which means that when the ladies are bending over, as we normally do 99% of the time playing hockey, backs are covered, and the shirts are not half way up the body.
Tried and tested, in performance meryl lycra fabric, shirts are available in a variety of colourways and designs.
Grove opted for a white home shirt, with sponsors branding and navy away shirt.

Royal Grammar Cup Winners Well, the boys down at Royal Grammar School have certainly done us proud by not only looking great in their new custom made performance shirts, but by winning the Bucks County Cup!! Well done boys!

SHU - National Cup Finals Day at Peffermill, Edinburgh on Saturday 15th

The Scottish Hockey men's and women's National Cup and Plate Finals are
being held at Peffermill, Edinburgh on Saturday 15th May 2004. There will
be top-class hockey on show during the four scheduled matches, which will
include full international and GB players. Former Olympians will also be
present. Winners of the men's Scottish Cup and the women's National League
Cup will qualify for the 2004-2005 European competition. Why not come along
and support the competing Clubs and enjoy the top class hockey that will be
on show. Tickets can be bought in advance from the SHU Office, as well as
at the venue on the day. The ticket prices are:-

COSMOS WIN AGAIN!! Yes, they've done it AGAIN! Purple Rock sponsored Cumbernauld Cosmos U-17 girls football team have done the double again! They added the Scottish U-17 Youth Cup to their trophy cabinet after an amazing 3-1 win over Falkrk on Sunday at Douglas Park in Hamilton. The girls played really well and showed just why they are the top side in Scotland.
As ever, we are very proud to be associated with the Cosmos and look forward to them doing the treble - watch this space for more news!
There are also 5 players who also represent Scotland at U-18 level - a real talented squad of players. Well done to coaches Carol and Shelley too - what a lot of hard work they put in - without Carol, the girls would be lost!

The Purple Rock Team WELL DONE BONAGRASS GROVE The Purple Rock team were delighted to be at Peffermill on Saturday for the Scottish Hockey finals day - we saw four great games - including some nailbiting penalty flick deciders. Purple Rock GHK were really unlucky to lose on flicks against Hillhead, after pulling the game back to 4-4, even with 10 men. And to top it all off, GHK were unable to wear their brand new Purple Rock strips as the opposition didn't have a change....hmmmmmmm. Oh well, GHK will be the best dressed next season and hopefully win some silverware!
Kelburne men again played brilliantly against Western Wildcats and sadly were pipped at the post so to speak on penalty flicks - both great games though. End to end stuff.
The ladies National League Cup Final was also a great game - Bonagrass Grove vs Western. It was great to see Olympic stalwarts such as Sue Fraser, Ally Ramsay, Rhona Simpson and of course former GB captain Pauline Stott at the Olympian lunch organised by Scottish Hockey. To then see the three Grove players put in such a great performance along with their team mates was fantastic. Bonagrass thorougly deserved their 3-2 victory and take the cup back to Dundee along with the League title. Well done girls - you also looked great in your shirts too.....who did them for you again????!

The Purple Rock Team European Superveterans in Edinburgh Yes, they really are Superveterans! Teams from France, Germany, England and Scotland are playing in the European Supervets tournament at Peffermill in Edinburgh this weekend. Purple Rock were there today and looking forward to Sunday. All players are over 60 and by the standard of play, could put many youngsters to shame. The oldest player is 71!
We are providing kit and tournament polo shirts and also have a wee stand selling the usual popular Purple Rock kit elements.
Pop into Peffermill on Sunday if you are around - we had great fun today and can't wait for tomorrow!
The Purple Rock Team Great final veterans match The Superveterans European tournament ended with an exciting fixture between England and Germany, with the final score tied at 2-2.
This left the Germans victorious, beating England for the cup on goal difference.
This was a superb event that all at Purple Rock enjoyed being a part of.

Just like many ladies teams (and gents), Purple Rock's custom made shirts really do look fantastic! Our performance fabric ladies fit (with extra tail) shirts have just been custom made for GHK ladies hockey club.
They incorporate club colours and have added piping - they look amazing and we are very proud of them.

The Purple Rock Team We've been very busy.... We deserve a good slap on our wrists or at least a whack on the back of our legs for being so bad at keeping you updated on our news!
We have been very busy working with some great clients including Scottish Shinty - we are the official supplier and very excited to be working with them. Look out for playing and training kit as well as soon to be launched replica kit for all the shinty fans out there.
Lots of other lovely customers are now looking even lovlier now they are wearing Purple Rock kit - Giffnock Hockey Club men's squads are all wearing custom made, performance fabric shirts provided by us, and sponsored by Countrywide Estate Agents. The teams all look really smart, and if the 1st XI league position is anything to go by, they seem to be playing as great as they look!
We've made quite a few changes to our showroom - lots more stock and more sample kit now available to see and try on. We will be re-vamping the site to reflect all the new stuff very soon, so keep checking back.

CELTIC CUP, 22-24 JULY 2005 Are you ready for the Celtic Cup 2005? We hope you are! Scotland are the hosts this year for the first time ever, and as you'd expect, the event promises to be full of excellent hockey from some of Scotland's top athletes and players.

Scotland played well overall, with some nail biting matches over the weekend. Purple Rock had a fully equipped tour bus for the occasion which acted as home for 2 days - yes, Purple Rock's owner slept in it for 2 nights. Hmmmmm, well she is committed!
It was great - a ready made mobile shop, with electric supply and running water!

WATSONIANS LOOKING GOOD! Watsonians men's squads will be looking even more gorgeous when you next see them....oh yes....they are now kitted out in custom made, performance fabric lovely shirts, lovely hoodies, tracksuits, shorts and socks.

The Purple Rock Team Busy Busy Busy! Whoever said that December was a good month to wind down towards Christmas and the New Year didn't work in team kit!!
We've had to recruit some of Santa's elves to help out here - they are very efficient by the way!
So what have we been up to lately?
Hockey kit for the navy, yes as in 'In the Navy' - custom made shirts, lovely shorts and socks to match
And just to keep with the theme, we kitted out the Army! At Deepcut barracks and also a squad in Greece (we do get round the World!)
Shinty kit for a leading side in Scotland....using this year's new Rucanor range - pop in or call for a look at the new brochure. We only use the best ready made kit and this is indeed brilliant. Great performance fabrics, colours and designs.
A nice big schools project for Argyll and Bute Council
Our favourite vets in Glasgow are gearing up for their annual ski trip, and as usual Purple Rock is kitting them out
And a top ladies football team, a brand new team in Carradale and that's just for starters!!!

The Purple Rock Team GLASGOW VETS SKIING TRIP Our pals at the Glasgow University Vet School are just back from their annual skiing trip. This year they went to Val Thorens, kitted out as usual in lovely, cosy, fully personalised (on both front and back) Purple Rock fleeces.

The PR Team COACH OF THE YEAR AT PURPLE ROCK! We are very proud indeed........as you all probably know, Helen who owns Purple Rock is sports daft and also a very qualified and talented coach across several sports.
On Saturday night, at David Lloyd Renfrew, she attended a presentation dinner held by Renfrewshire Sports Council....and, yes you've guessed it, she walked away with Female Coach of the Year (for 2005), and was up against stiff opposition.
She was rewarded for the work she has done in the past 3 years with Kelburne Hockey Club, based in Paisley. In her first season in charge, the ladies 1st XI were taken from mid-bottom of National League Division 2 to the top flight in Division 1, gaining promotion not only outdoor, but indoor too. This position was held on season 2004/2005, where the team also went up (again!) the indoor ranks to National Division 2, and this season are improving even more aiming for a top 5 finish in Division 1 outdoor and have just been promoted to National Division 1 indoor! Phew!
Kelburne enhanced the ladies coaching side further by appointing performance coach Susan Gilmour in 2005, who now looks after the 1st XI outdoor squad, with Helen now assisting and focusing on development of the reserve squad.
Helen was slightly stunned to get her award, but was able to talk (just):
"I am really chuffed to receive this - all credit is due to the players for all their hard work and effort and to the support given by the club as a whole. It really is an honour, having been a coach since I was 24 (that's over 10 years!). Coaching Kelburne allows me to take a break from running Purple Rock and makes sure I don't work too many late nights!"
We were going to post a pic of Helen and her award, but her beaming red face didn't look great on the digital camera....only kidding! Well done Helen! TARTAN DAY IN NEW YORK PR in NYC sounds very gangsta....but it's not, it's very Scottish!
Yes, Purple Rock is proud as punch to be kitting out the VisitScotland teams for tartan day with loads of events taking place in New York surrounding Tartan Day which is on 6th April.
We supplied fleeces and polo shirts for the street teams and event teams who will be working their wee socks off to help promote the wonderful country that is Scotland.
All the kit is embriodered and printed for each team member. When we get a minute, we will upload the pics for you to see - it is really lovely stuff.
The quality and finish of the kit has already been commented on by our client so we are very pleased indeed!
Samples are in the showroom if you are passing....we may even offer you a cuppa and a hob nob...!

The Purple Rock team ARMY VOLLEYBALL We've just finished some fab kit for the Army volleyball team, based in Worthy Down. Yes, the real army are wearing PR kit, which we are very chuffed about - the women's and men's squads.
We supplied performance shirts in red and black, branded with Army official branding and we created a new font for numbers to match. We supplied lovely matching shorts too. Below is the libero shirt - main shirt is red.black version of this.
HOCKEY FINALS 30TH APRIL What a great day out and fantastic atmosphere on Sunday at the National Hockey Centre, Peffermill.
Purple Rock's (modest) owner Helen scored the winner and only goal for her Kelburne A team in a hard fought victory against Aberdeen to win the District Cup, and watched 3 of the men's squads from Kelburne compete in the other final matches, with Kelburne C men lifting the Reserve Plate. The other Kelburne teams were unlucky in the District Cup, going out on sudden death flicks and by a single goal in the Reserve Cup Final.
Giffnock B won against Watsonians, and modelled their lovely personalised Purple Rock hoodies after the match - pics to follow! Giffnock A men's team were unlucky to have a few players away with the Scotland Veterans and lost to a strong Western Wildcats team.

FINALS DAY! Good luck to all the teams competing in the National Finals tomorrow at Peffermill - especially all our lovely customers - you know who you are!

Well, its been a couple of months of late nights and early mornings for the Purple Rock team - which is great for all the lovely customers out there.
So what's been going on? Well, where do we begin......
We are churning lovely kit out at a rate of knots just now! Our Scottish and UK based manufacturers have been great as usual - we are so fussy - every bit of our clients kit has to be 100% right down to the stitching!
Latest jobs: colleges, football teams, athletics, tour kit, hockey club training and playing kit and back to school/start of hockey season gear. Oh and the Royal Navy and VisitScotland!
If you didn't already know, you can buy some kit online: New 2006/07 amazing Zoppo range of sticks and their great shoes (I know cos I wear them and they are THE comfiest hockey shoes I've ever had on!), last year's remainining sticks reduced, a Scotland Replica range and a few other bits are here at the Purple Rock Shop

CALEY UNI LOOKING GOOD! The Caledonian University ladies 1st XI came to see us looking for some lovely new shirts and well.....we did them proud!
And they did themselves proud by beating....Glasgow Uni, who are also a lovely customer of ours. Don't they look great?
Shirts branded, personalised, numbered in-house. This is a lovely Rucanor shirt which is off the shelf and a great quality garment.
MRS BIKER PURPLE ROCK! Helen, the owner of Purple Rock is not only sport and team kit daft, she is also motorbike daft and can be seen zipping about Glasgow and well beyond on her prized R6, not forgetting the regular scrambling too!
Well, Clyde 1 are currently looking for Road Angels to nip out on their bikes of an early morning and report back on traffic. Helen jumped at the chance to apply ("I can go out on my bike before work too!") and had her audition LIVE this morning on Clyde 1! She was first to get to her chosen place and called in her very own traffic report as well as being interviewed!
We are biased, but she was very calm under pressure and definitely has the face for radio!
Listen out for more info on Clyde 1 and see if she gets through to become an official Clyde 1 angel - which will mean more work for the rest of the Purple Rock team no doubt!

Purple Rock TOO BUSY! Phew it's February already and we've been so busy we haven't had time to post up all the great stuff we are doing and the lovely clients we are working for!
Take it from us, its been a very busy January and, well we didn't notice it was February we've been working so hard!
What's happening just now then? Lots of tour kit, footie kit, hockey kit, skiing trip personalised cosy fleeces, volleyball, rugby......lots and lots!

The Purple Rock Team TARTAN WEEK! Sorry loyal visitors to the PR site - we've been too busy to add much news and there's so much going on! AND our new site is nearly done, but we have to spend some time adding products and giving the web experts information that they need! We will get to this this month - promise!
Anyway, just a quick note of thanks to the VisitScotland team looking after Tartan Week - we were very proud again to have provided the kit for this again and it went down very well which we are delighted about! So there are lots of lovely people strolling about NY city and beyond in lovely PR kit.

The Purple Rock Team HOLIDAY! Hello! As many of you know (and a few may not!), PR's owner Helen is bike daft - not push bikes, but BIKES - as in fast sports bikes. Any of the visitors to Purple Rock HQ would have been blind to miss the extra shiny R6 sitting at the front....
Anyway, its Isle of Man 07 TT racing time and the team are off on their annual jaunt to Isle of Man in the tour bus, with the bikes to watch the racing for the next 10 days.
