Purple Rock - 'One to Watch' Purple Rock entered the inaugural Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Business Awards in 2002 in the Best Newcomer category. Up against much larger businesses, the judging panel decided that Purple Rock should receive a special commendation.
This commendation tipped Purple Rock as 'One to Watch' in the future in terms of growth and product offering.
Purple Rock's owner, Helen Paxton was delighted:
"To start your own business and see it grow and grow is the most satisfying feeling in the world. I am passionate about sport (as most people know) and I am passionate about my business, which is about sport. We've delivered some really exciting projects over the past 12 months - one being the Scottish Hockey squad kit. It is great to work with Scotland's top hockey players and actually create a suite of garments that they have tested and tried. We plan on entering the awards again in 2004 - if the business continues to grow as it has been, we'll be up there with the bigger fish!"
The business is about to expand further, with an extension planned for the current office and the appointment of a full time business development professional.
